Not too long ago I connected with a local business owner, Molly Hildenbrand, who owns a CBD products company, Be Rooted Botanicals. CBD is the non-intoxicating chemical cannabidiol that is the less-regulated partner to THC, the chemical that produces euphoria. I was curious about the cannabis business, and also about being a woman in that business. Not only a woman, but she told me that the business she started with her sister is staffed with all women.
Molly hooked me up with two other business owners, Ginger Dawn of Blossom Vitality and Mo George-Payette of Momo’s CBD, so we could chat about the business, its joys and challenges, and being a woman owner in an industry that not too long ago was illegal—and still is in many places.
What I came away with was a sense of empowerment and joy from these women. All three came to CBD through the natural products business, and all three seem thrilled to be able to make these products that so many people find helpful.
